Located in Frederick, Maryland, the Graduate School at Hood College welcomes applications from qualified candidates holding a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with at least a 2.75 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale. Doctoral applicants need to have a master’s degree from an accredited institution as well. GRE or GMAT exams are not required for most programs.
The Graduate School application process is easy and convenient. Just follow these three steps.
Note: If you are interested in enrolling in coursework as a non-degree seeking student, please complete the non-degree application/registration form.
Complete the online graduate school application. To ensure timely review of applications and enrollment, students are encouraged to apply and submit all required supplemental documents by the following deadlines:
- May 1 for summer terms (April 15 for international applicants)
- June 15 for doctoral programs
- Aug. 15 for fall semester (June 15 for counseling programs: July 21 for all initial F1 applicants)
- Dec. 1 for spring semester (Nov. 15 for counseling programs and all initial F1 applicants)
Any applications that become complete after the deadlines may be reviewed on a space- and time-permitting basis.
Submit official college transcript(s). Mail official college transcript(s) to The Graduate School at Hood College, 401 Rosemont Ave., Frederick, MD 21701. As a convenience, the transcript request form can be printed and submitted to previous institution(s). Some programs require the submission of transcripts from all institutions attended.
Note: If an applicant has completed coursework at Hood College, there is no need to make a transcript request, since our office can access all Hood transcripts.
Submit any supplemental application documents to email@example.com. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and students are notified of admission decisions approximately two weeks after their application file becomes complete.
